R.E.M. – Gardening At Night

default R.E.M. Gardening At Night

Love this though the only understandable lyrics are the chorus so here are the lyrics: I see your money on the floor, I felt the pocket change. Though all The feelings that broke through that door Just didn't seem to be too real. The yard is nothing but a fence, The sun just hurts my eyes. Somewhere It must be time for penitence. Gardening at night is never where. Gardening at night Gardening at night Gardening at night The neighbors go to bed at ten. Call the prayer line for a change. The charge is changing every month. They said it couldn't be arranged. We ankled up the garbage sound, But they were busy in the rows. We fell up, not to see the sun, Gardening at night just didn't grow. I see your money on the floor, I felt the pocket change. Though all The feelings that broke though that door Just didn't seem to be too real. Gardening at night Gardening at night Gardening at night. Your sister said that you're too young. They should know they've been there twice. The call was two and fifty-one. They said it couldn't be arranged. I see your money on the floor, I felt the pocket change. Though all The feelings that broke through that door Just didn't seem to be too real. We ankled up the garbage sound, But they were busy in the rows. We fell up not to see the sun, Gardening at night just didn't grow. Gardening at night Gardening at night Gardening at night

I can’t believe Stipe’s vocals on this version. Everyone hates them, but they have such an effect on me. I want people to talk in this voice in their day-to-day life.

never said it was a video, and who says ya ca’t share your cd collection if you feel you got good music in it…share it with people. thats basically what I’m doing plus theres already videos of this song.

  5. GlorifiedTruth

Sounds like he’s saying “felt your pocket change through a hole” … ??

  7. dawright27

It’s Michael Stipe, I remember when this song came out and no one really knew who they were. It’s him.

  8. zenswing

Oh yeah, let me go on records to state: I like this version best!

Stipe was young at the time, it ‘s him. I’m sorry, but it’s really him.. .vocals change with time. Search Eponymous for the alt version.

If you look around, you can find the alternate take version as heard on… um… Eponymous, I believe. Stipe sings it in his normal register… that would be more familiar.

If this is Michael Stipe singing, he’s either masking his natural voice, not really trying to sing properly (maybe laying down the instrument tracks or rehearsing), or has something physically wrong with his vocal cords. I’m sorry, but it sounds awful!!!!

  12. txeire

    lol…of course its Stipe…sheesh

  13. vorivori2000

    Of course it’s Stipe!

  14. tomorrettisgay

from the dead letter office album which has the chronic town ep at the end of it, so I think it might be him

  15. happy543210

Dude, I don’t know where you got this from, but this is NOT Michael Stipe singing.

You have to look up here at Youtube danielearwicker of the group primerose league. The band consists of him n him n him n him…..etc. He does as lot of REM n Smiths on most on Rick’s. HE IS GREAT!

I love R.E.M and all, but in this song the vocalist sounds like a character from sesame street (at least like a character from the dutch sesame street)

Sometimes it’s better not to know what the gargoyles say…

  23. mogwai142

Love the Rickenbacher sound!! But this version is not my favorite, I prefer the one when he sings normally.

  24. SpammerOvTheGods

to play this right on guitar, drop both E strings down to D.

Maybe my fave REM song ever – certainly top 3.

    #@!
