Absolute madness, but how I love it…………………40 years later and it is still the best. Love ya Viv and co x
Could only be an english song ~ illustrating the terratorial nature of the english property owning classes with their expensive law suits over 3 inches of boundary line and heights of Leylandii. Brilliant and the longest “so there” in recorded history!
Love that melodyyyyyyyyyya!
So theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere!
LOL
Growing up in the USA, I couldn’t understand the meaning of the title. We really don’t have semi-detatched houses in America. Having lived in England for many years, I know all to well the meaning of the “half drainpipe”
Lovely weirdness. With a bass sax solo!
My goodness, I haven’t seen Lego trees for ages!
@CentralNervous You can well be proud. The english are comedy geniuses.
excellent video xx
EXCELLENT – well done folks
In the downstairs studio of my art glass business was a cast iron drainpipe coming from the upper floors. In honour it was painted pink. My favourite Bonzo tune.
here comes the spoon! haha love it.
Whenever I think of or hear this song I think of this video :) I reckon it’s how the Bonzos would want it done XD
awesome
THERE’S ME COUSIN WITH HIS HANKY ON HIS HEAD
are you kidding?
THESE GUYS ARE INCOMPORABLE
My Favorite Album is Keynsham followed closely by Let s Make Up and be Friendly
The Bonzos Had no equal in the 60′s
the only band that came close was The Who
PARABLE !!!
^o^
I used to read the Deano comic,
all the characters were alcholic ;-j
Makes sense to me.
Thinks. Wallace and Gromit on a tight budget. (Very tight). Great job here. Captures the essence of the song perfect! LOL
echopractic
I always heard th@ line as, “Lord Snooty’s giant poisoned electric head”. As in ‘Lord Snooty and his Pals’ from the Beano comic (or was it the Dandy?) Anyway…… I intend to be a freak for the rest of my life…….. so therrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre ?
Yes, it’s really….
really isn’t it?
I remember them,
yes, I really do I.
so many views & responses cos it is the best animation for such a cool Bonzo’s track. :-)
Agreed. Have been listening to them since I saw them open for the Who in LA on the Tommy tour. My friends pretty much know that when I babble something incoherent (to them) that I’m most likely quoting a Bonzo line from a (sadly) long-forgotten tune. Too bad more people don’t have a listen.
I think comparisons are irrelevant . The Bonzo Dog Band were one of the best bands to come out of England in the 1960′s. All of the LP’s were re-mastered and released with bonus tracks back in 2007. Gorilla, The Doughnut in Granny’s Greenhouse ( Urban Spaceman in North America), Tadpoles, Keynsham and their “re-union” LP Let’s Make Up and Be Friendly – They all came with bonus tracks for each CD and were released on the Liberty/EMI Label…Very good sound quality compared to the original LP’s.
Beautiful. I’m sitting in Paris and this song has been running through my head for a week. What a clever use of clay. Completely disagree about Stanshall being the English Zappa; why would you say that? Because they were absurdists?
Such a comparison does a dis-service to both artists. IMHO, Zappa was a brilliant musician with comedic skills while Stanshall was a brilliant comic with limited musical skills. Zappa didn’t have an Innes to write his music.
