I don't want to mow grass inside the but grass grew up through our old fence and encroached on my vegetables and bent the fencing. We have to till the ground each year inside fence and don't want the tiller caught in fence or ground covers. thanks

Maybe some nasturtiums. They grow vines and have orange flowers that are supposed to keep bugs out of the garden. Cosmos are easy to grow flowers. They grow tall 3-4 feet and have nice cutting flowers. Either way you’ll have to pull a few weeds until the plants get established.

Why not use a grass killer to get rid af the grass close to your fence.
You can use vinegar or another weed killer to spot treat grass and weeds encroaching along your fence and garden.
